Northern Shoveler

A medium-sized dabbling duck with a large, spoon-shaped bill that makes it easy to recognize. Males have a glossy green head, white chest, chestnut sides, and yellow eyes, while females are mottled brown with an oversized orange bill. Often found in shallow marshes, ponds, wetlands, and flooded fields, where they feed by sweeping their bill through the water.
